Earned Value Management (EVM), often called simply the value obtained is a production technique for the management and programming costs, it is necessary in many contracts from the U.S. government. In recent years, EVM has proven to be equally valuable when applied to other complex projects, either in private circles, business or government.

In the world of the EVM, the role of audit manager (CAM) is essential for the process. The project leader and all supporters of traditional project management are active participants and have important responsibilities that can not be underestimated. However, given the critical role of CAM, this material is intended to help the campaign plan and manage assigned tasks.

EVM process is essentially the same at all levels of the organization or project. The individual components of the EVM approach addresses a work permit through status reports. The descriptions of the analytical accounts, authorized work packages and work packages always stand out for their importance in the EVM approach in general and, specifically, because of its role in helping the CAM success in the difficult task of reconciling the demands and many project management tasks.

The first concept of EVM (then known as the Cost Schedule Control System Criteria) was introduced in the 1960′s, when the Department of Defense Instruction 7000.2 as the procurement performance exploded on the scene management. These organizations obviously have concepts and techniques useful for all the work, not only is for the United States government.

Please note that all agree that EVM is the best approach to project management. However, in this experiment, these same critics subtly adjust various components of the EVM concept of projects and management tools to find very useful and productive. After all, it’s hard to argue with the concepts of corporate governance based on EVM.

CRITICAL EVM data elements

There are three essential elements involved in EVM data: Planned Value (PV) The actual cost (AC), and Equity (EV)

Planning Value

The PV is the amount of resources, usually expressed in dollar terms to be consumed to carry out a specific part of the work environment. PV is more commonly called a spending plan or cost estimate and has been used in the world of project management. EVM in applications, the emphasis is on achieving the closest possible correlation between the volume of work to do (job content) and the amount of resources actually required to provide this field.

Actual Cost

The CA is the amount of resources, usually expressed in terms of dollars spent within a specified time to complete a specific field of work. CA is more commonly known as real or just the actual costs, and was also used in the world of project management from its inception. In applications CMVD SCSC / the focus is on expanding and recording of expenditure of resources with a direct correlation with the volume of work that was scheduled to be completed at the same point in time.

Earned Value

The EV is a measure of the amount of work, expressed in terms of all or part of the budget allocated to this specific job field.
